The Environment and Sustainability

Due to global warming and other environmental concerns, the fashion industry is focusing on minimizing its impact on the environment. The fashion industry has caused a great deal of damage on the environment from fast fashion, large factories and machinery, and waste from production. Designers are constantly finding new ways now to make clothing more sustainable.

LGBTQ, Androgyny, and Gender Equality

The LGBTQ community has been in a spotlight this past year, with June being Pride Month there were huge parades, many social media posts, and just about every storefront window was decorated with pride to support the community. As a society, we are becoming more inclusive of the LGBTQ of the community and fashion demonstrates this especially now. Fashion has been blurring the lines between men's and women's wear, making the clothing more androgynous supporting gender fluidity.

Mental Health and Self Love

Designers are now focusing on brining mental health into the spotlight and ending the stigma on mental health issues. With that, they are also spreading the importance of self love. This theme carries much importance because it stretches across all types of people young, old, male, female, neither – everybody can relate to this theme and be inspired by the idea of loving themselves first.
